Full Time RECE Teacher

Job Summary

Our Teachers bring warmth, patience, and understanding to the classroom every day, encouraging children to learn and grow. They inspire children to be lifelong learners using our nationally recognized curriculum that promotes social, physical, verbal, and cognitive development. Our Teachers are committed to making their center successful and know that creating meaningful relationships with children, families, and their team play a crucial role in that success. 


Main Responsibilities

  • Design, arrange and maintain a safe, orderly, appealing, and developmentally appropriate program space, including 5 distinct program areas in the room. Ensuring that materials and room set up are done prior to children entering the room (before & after school) or activities commencing (full day program)
  • Ensures all children and youth programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their families.
  • Responsible for planning and implementing an appropriate activities that follow the children’s interests
  • Respond with sensitivity to the needs of individual children and their families, respecting diversities in age, sex, developmental level, religion, sexual orientation, and cultural background.
  • Read the communication book before starting shift and read and update the room communication book daily.
  • Work as a team member; serve as a role model.
  • Plan and implement the activities that follow the children’s interests.
  • Ensure children are dressed appropriately for indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Conduct daily health check of children; record illness and inform Supervisor



Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Current Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators for ECE classroom teacher
  • Minimal one year work with children experience 
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
  • Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
  • Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
  • All center staff applicants must meet state specific guidelines for the role

Full time ECA teacher

Job Summary

Main Responsibilities

  • Assists the Registered Early Childhood Educator in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum which includes activities, and experiences for children between the ages of 18 months to 6 years, focusing on the age range of children in the room that you are planning for.
  • Assists Early Childhood Educators in providing a high-quality program in the classroom.
  • Assists in providing a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of development.
  • Assists the RECE in the classroom in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up, preparing needed materials, and supplies.
  • Assists the RECE in promoting positive interactions and behaviour guidance and assistance with the ongoing supervision of the classroom, playground, group, individual and routine activities
  • Engages and works collaboratively as team member in caring for the children and the overall operation of the program; maintains regular and open communication with peers and all other co-workers

Part Time Teacher, Before & After School Teacher

Job Summary

Our Teachers are committed to making their center successful and know that creating meaningful relationships with children, families, and their team play a crucial role in that success. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn during the before and after school time 
  • Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
  • Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners
  • Implement Newstead’s curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child
  • The working hours must be flexible for the mornings and afternoons. 
  • Total working hours for the week approximately between 10-20 hours. 

Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Minimal one year work with children experience for Early Childhood Assistants (ECA and non ECA) 
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
  • Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
  • Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
  • All center staff applicants must meet state specific guidelines for the role

Cook Staff

Job Summary

As a cook, you will prepare healthy and tasty meals and snacks for the children in our centers. Following a menu and recipes developed by our in-house nutritionist, you’ll ensure our children have the fuel they need to learn and grow.


Main Responsibilities

  • Develop scandalized kitchen Receipts for all the dishes.
  • Develop the standardized kitchen purchase list according to the existing menu.
  • Develop standardized receipts for each of the dish including snakes, meals and bakery, integrated with the kitchen management software Sonia Couto.
  • Pay careful attention to the operating budgets of the department to ensure that costs are controlled to maintain the correct levels of spending
  • Supervise the preparation of all food
  • Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
  • Order food and supplies
  • Dispense and store medication, as requested
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation according to Newstead and other licensing or regulation requirements
